User Who Drew Swastika in the Shiba Inu Metaverse Gets Blacklisted

Quick take:

  • Shiba Inu blacklists a user for drawing a hate symbol in the metaverse land.
  • The swastika symbol was quickly erased via a community effort.

As per the statement released by Shiba Inu metaverse developers, a user has been blocked and blacklisted for drawing a swastika on the metaverse land.

Shiba Inu’s bid for the land began on the 12th of April. They auctioned 36,000 of the total 100,000 plots for sale in the initial round.

The plots were open to SHIB supporters who have locked LEASH tokens and Shiboshi non-fungible tokens. The lands themselves range in price from 0.2 to 1.0 ETH.

When viewed from the map, the color of a plot of land owned by a user changed from "grey" to "black."

Shiba Inu took quick actions

On April 15, members of the Shiba Inu Discord community discovered that a malevolent user was bidding on land in the shape of a swastika.

SHIB holders dug deep and began bidding for property surrounding the sign (shading their color) until it ultimately formed the shape of a "window" as soon as the news broke.

Shiba Inu's team published a guideline on April 20th to make the SHIB environment varied, secure, and supportive. SHIB would not accept hate speech, intolerance, or prejudice, according to the policy. Any person or account found to be encouraging violence against others in any way will be banned. The metaverse will place such accounts' wallets on a blacklist, preventing them from participating in any and all aspects of the space.
