Ronin Bridge Hackers Move 38,293 ETH in Biggest Crypto Hack to Date

Quick take:

  • Ronin Bridge hackers who stole over $600 million from the Ronin Network seem to be moving funds.
  • The hackers have successfully managed to move $114 million worth of Ethereum.

The Ronin Network fell victim to one of the largest hacks in crypto history last month. Ronin was the side-chain that was built to scale Axie Infinity. The heist made the hackers over $620 million in ETH.

The attackers cashed 28,164 ETH out of the total 173,000 ETH stolen. The valuation seems to be around $86,128,384.

The funds are on the move

The hackers moved over 2,000 ETH 2 weeks ago, and now the funds seem to be moving again. The transaction history shown below highlights the movement of funds from the wallet associated with the exploit.

The image shared by a Reddit user, ‘ThatGuy222666’, has been tracking the flow of funds from the wallet. The attackers are utilizing multiple wallets to deposit ETH into Tornado Cash.

The hackers also transferred 10,000 ETH in a single transaction to a wallet. According to the Reddit user, the attackers are constantly increasing the quantity of the outflow of funds.

“I plan on continuing to track where all this ETH goes purely out of curiosity, the absolute magnitude of this exploit is too much for my little brain to comprehend.”

The Reddit user also believes that a single attacker might have carried out the attack. But US watchlist linked the hack to North Korea’s Lazarus group.

As of now, it’s not clear who conducted the largest hack. But the authorities seem to be tailing the hacker to catch him.
