Bitsneaks Sneaker Will Bring Bitcoin Mining and Price to Your Feet

Quick take:

  • Bitrefill partners with NBA star Spencer Dinwiddie to launch smart sneakers.
  • Bitsneaks is capable of displaying real-time BTC prices with a built-in mining rig.

Bitrefill is teaming up with NBA player Spencer Dinwiddie to produce Bitsneaks, a high-tech shoe that shows the current bitcoin price.

The shoes have cellular internet access through a 3G connection incorporated in a flexible LED matrix panel, as well as a complete node and mining equipment built into the shoebox.

The cellphone data will be available for free In 154 countries, and the LED turns purple when bitcoin reaches $1 million. Only bitcoin may be used to purchase the sneaker, which costs 1 BTC.

Bitsneaks: The one of a kind sneaker

The sneaker is considered to be the world’s highest teach enabled sneaker. “In the same way we believe our services at Bitrefill.com must be ten times better than our competitors, when we made a sneaker, we wanted it with 10x the coolness of anything else,” said Sergej Kotliar, founder of Bitrefill.

The sneaker is said to be a design taking a quantum leap in sneaker technology. Each of the custom sneakers will have a built-in LED display that can be controlled through a mobile app.

“For us to beat giants like Nike and build what everyone said was impossible is yet another proof of what a small dedicated team like ours can do when trying to achieve something truly foolish,” said Kotliar.

The limited-edition sneakers will go live for pre-order at bitsneaks.com on April 13.
